Eduardo Salvio has swapped Club Atlético de Madrid for SL Benfica for an undisclosed fee.
Salvio has signed a five-year contract with Benfica, bringing an end to his two-and-a-half-season stay in the Spanish capital. He previously made 19 Portuguese Liga appearances for Benfica during a loan spell from Atlético during the 2010/11 campaign.
"I'm very happy and grateful to Benfica for their efforts in my acquisition," said the Argentinian international. "I wanted to return to the club and I will give my very best to thank everyone."
Salvio scored five goals in 44 Liga games for Atlético, having arrived from CA Lanús in January 2010. He featured as a substitute in the Rojiblancos' UEFA Europa League final triumphs of that year and 2012.
