The 20 teams in the UEFA Champions League play-offs now know who stands between them and a coveted place in the group stage.
For clubs such as AEL Limassol FC, Hapoel Kiryat Shmona FC, Málaga CF and VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach, all of whom are experiencing Europe's premier club competition for the first time, the draw prompted outpourings of excitement.
AEL, hoping to emulate domestic rivals APOEL FC's achievement of reaching the quarter-finals last season, spoke of having waited "44 years for something like this", Hapoel described being in the hat as "amazing" and Gladbach said they are looking forward to facing a "great team" in FC Dynamo Kyiv.
