AC Milan and Italian Under-21 international forward Stephan El Shaarawy has signed a contract extension which will keep him at San Siro until June 2017.
A lifelong Milan fan, El Shaarawy, 19, joined from Genoa CFC in June 2011 and scored two goals in 22 appearances as the Rossoneri finished second behind Juventus in Serie A last term. "I'm happy about this extension," said El Shaarawy, who is optimistic of filling the void left by Zlatan Ibrahimović's departure to Paris Saint-Germain FC. "I hope to do better next season and get a regular place in the team so that I can play more games."
Milan will enter the UEFA Champions League at the group stage. They will discover their opponents when the draw takes place on 30 August in Monaco.
