UEFA Champions League finalists FC Bayern München have bolstered their attacking ranks ahead of next season with the signing of Croatian international forward Mario Mandžukić from VfL Wolfsburg.
The 26-year-old, who has moved for an undisclosed fee, is expected to arrive in Munich in the next few days to complete a medical before signing a four-year deal that will tie him to the Bavarian giants until 30 June 2016.
Mandžukić joined Wolfsburg in 2010 from NK Dinamo Zagreb and has scored 20 times in 56 Bundesliga appearances. He played every minute of Croatia's three matches in UEFA EURO 2012 Group C, scoring three goals for Slaven Bilić's side.
"We are very happy that we have managed to sign not only a superb striker in the Bundesliga, but also a player who left his mark on the European Championship in Poland and the Ukraine," said sporting director Christian Nerlinger. "He will definitely strengthen our squad."
