Arjen Robben has followed the example of team-mate Daniel Van Buyten by extending his contract with UEFA Champions League finalists FC Bayern München.
The winger has added two more years to a deal which was due to expire at the end of next season and consequently is now tied to the Bundesliga club until June 2015. On Monday, Van Buyten prolonged his expiring terms by a further 12 months.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Bavarians in 2009 from Real Madrid CF, said: "I've always emphasised that I feel very, very settled in Munich and at Bayern. This is the reason I'm glad to extend my contract ahead of its expiry.
"Bayern are like a family to me. Two of my three children were born in Munich and my family and I feel at home here. This contract extension is also the right decision for me from a sporting perspective. We have a magnificent team and I'm certain we'll enjoy the maximum possible footballing success in the years to come."
Eleven of Robben's 39 Bundesliga goals for Die Roten have been scored this season, when he has taken his tally of top-flight appearances for the club to 61. On target from the spot in regulation time against Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg, Robben will face another of his former employers when Bayern host Chelsea FC at their Fußball Arena München home in the final on 19 May.
