FC Barcelona have received a boost ahead of next month's UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayer 04 Leverkusen after forward Isaac Cuenca signed a new contract.

The 20-year-old youth team product, who has committed until June 2015, has impressed at Camp Nou since making his debut in his side's 2-0 UEFA Champions League triumph against FC Viktoria Plzeň in October. He has since gone on to score four times in 15 appearances in all competitions for Josep Guardiola's team.

The Spain Under-21 international said: "Who would have said this only a few months ago? A player for the best team in the world; the dream starts today." The European champions travel to Germany to take on Leverkusen on 14 February before hosting the Bundesliga side in the return on 7 March.
