SL Benfica have agreed to sign UD Leiria's 20-year-old forward Jorge Djaniny, who will join the UEFA Champions League contenders in the summer.
Djaniny will put pen to paper on a five-year deal at Benfica. He has impressed this term after making the step up to the Portuguese top flight in the close season from lower league GD Valense. The Cape Verde-born striker has scored twice in 13 Liga appearances, and most recently played in the 4-0 defeat by Benfica which took the Eagles top of the standings, two points clear of FC Porto, for the first time this campaign.
He is the second promising youngster recruited by Benfica in the space of three months following the capture of 17-year-old Paraguayan forward Derlis González. Benfica visit FC Zenit St Petersburg in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on 15 February before hosting the Russian Premier League side in the return on 6 March.
