Jupp Heynckes, Bayern coach
It was important that we could decide the group before the last matchday. It was a convincing clean sweep by us. What I did not like so much was conceding a goal after the break. Because of that we had to up the ante once more.

It was a very difficult group with teams from the four best leagues in Europe and we have marched through it. We had some good luck today in scoring the early goal and we played in a commanding way.

Juan Carlos Garrido, Villarreal coach
We put in a good performance – although that's not what final score shows. But we must extract positives from everything to improve in our next match as we are professionals. Bayern are a great team, and we were having a lot of problems before this match. At this stage of the season there are a lot in the squad who are growing as players.

We have to be satisfied, because we are now a better team that the one that started the match. We have strengthened in Germany. We finished the match with a lot of players from our academy, and that's a very important point for our club. For us it was a reward to play against Bayern. The Liga and Copa del Rey are the priorities for us now, and we have to focus to go far in them. We are out of UEFA Champions League, but we still have a lot of hope for the other tournaments.
