KRC Genk coach Mario Been has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract with the Belgian champions.
Been, 47, took over in late August from Pierre Denier and Hans Visser, who had been in caretaker charge following the departure of Frank Vercauteren for United Arab Emirates outfit al-Jazira Club. Been, formerly at the SBV Excelsior, NEC Nijmegen and Feyenoord helm, initially accepted a deal until the end of the season but has now committed to the club until summer 2014.
Genk are certain to finish bottom of UEFA Champions League Group E, having picked up just two points ahead of the matchday six visit of Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 6 December.
