Striker Jelle Vossen has committed his future to KRC Genk after agreeing to extend his stay with the UEFA Champions League participants by a year until 2016.
The new contract is a welcome sign of intent from the 22-year-old Belgium forward, who has scored four First League goals and appeared in all three of his side's UEFA Champions League matches this season. Vossen, in his sixth campaign at the club, helped Genk win the title for a third time with 20 goals last term.
"Genk are delighted to announce that Jelle Vossen has put pen to paper on a deal that adds one more year to his contract," read a statement by the Belgian champions. A youth academy graduate, Vossen has made 95 top-flight outings since his first-team debut in the 2006/07 season.
Genk lie eighth in the Belgian standings, ten points adrift of leaders RSC Anderlecht, and fourth in UEFA Champions League Group E with one point from a possible nine.
