Josep Guardiola, Barcelona coach
We put on an exhibition and played in a resounding manner. The news tonight is we have achieved it without Lionel Messi scoring. We know that the most difficult thing [against a defensive team] is to score but that is all part of the process; we had a lot of opportunities and sometimes we were assertive while at other times we weren't.

In general I thought we played well. The fact that we didn't concede means that the whole team was involved. I congratulate my players for taking the game with the seriousness it deserved. I do not like the feeling that exists that suggests because we did not win by a bigger score we have not had a good game. My players played a great game. Fortunately, David Villa's goal finished the encounter.

Pavel Vrba, Plzeň coach
We played against the best side in the world and a defeat here is not a disgrace. I have seen six of Barcelona's games this season and all of them have been like this one. It was always only a question of time, when they would score goal. They play football at their own level.

Our players tried to fulfill their tasks, but it is very difficult to do it against such players as Lionel Messi, who is able to go round three opponents. The first-half was better from our viewpoint, we were unable to release the pressure after the restart. I am sorry about the second goal, which was an idle one to concede. On the other hand we were lucky on several occasions.
