Vítor Pereira, Porto coach
I was never afraid about the result. We are used to seeing this team overturn bad results. We played well, had good possession, good occupation of space and created opportunities. This team never hides and always believes in its football. With patience and the talent of the players we discovered the right way to score. My team is confident and mature while managing to play at the right pace.
Mircea Lucescu, Shakhtar coach
Of course I am disappointed. We started well and controlled the game until our first player was dismissed. It is obvious that after we lost the second defender Porto would have the majority of possession, but we also created chances of our own. Luiz Adriano could have scored with two headers while Porto had long shots that were not always accurate. We defended well and didn't allow them to get into our box. We needed to win this match so I opted to field a bit more of an attacking lineup which was able to cope with João Moutinho, a very active and dynamic player in midfield.
