I don't know if the result should make us happy or upset. After the Inter victory, it would have given us a huge advantage if we had won again. Lille are a settled team who play with discipline and are capable of producing fast counterattacks; therefore we started the game cautiously. However, it turned into some nervous play and we conceded a very simple goal.
Despite the poor pitch conditions, we pressed them up front and chased for an equaliser. The result is not that bad and I congratulated my players. One drawback for us was the lack of creativity. We are top of the group now and we have two consecutive matches against [PFC] CSKA Moskva. Four points from those two games would give us a very big advantage as Inter are playing against Lille.
Rudi Garcia, Lille coach
Once again we're pegged back and the story is the same from set pieces. A penalty this time. It's a shame because we had chances to make it 2-0, at least twice. We have performed well from a defensive point of view but after that, to be honest, it was difficult as the pitch was not easy. We lost two points and it's a pity because this was probably a key game.
