Manchester City FC right-back Micah Richards has committed his long-term future to the UEFA Champions League debutants by signing a new four-year contract.
Richards, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2013, is approaching 200 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions since making his debut as a teenager in October 2005. The 23-year-old academy product has been capped 12 times by England, the last of which came in a 2-1 defeat by France last November.
Roberto Mancini's team were drawn with FC Bayern München, Villarreal CF and SSC Napoli in UEFA Champions League Group A. Manchester City can make it three wins from as many matches at the start of the English season when they play Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday at White Hart Lane.
