UEFA Champions League play-off contenders Villarreal CF have signed midfielder Javier Camuñas from CA Osasuna.
The 31-year-old has switched for a €2.3m fee and has agreed a contract running until summer 2014, subject to a medical this week. Camuñas is Villarreal's third signing of the close season, following defender Cristián Zapata and goalkeeper César Sánchez to El Madrigal.
On Real Madrid CF's books as a youngster, Camuñas went on to play for Club Atlético de Pinto, Rayo Vallecano, Getafe CF, CF Ciudad de Murcia, Xerez CD and RC Recreativo de Huelva before joining Osasuna in 2009. Camuñas scored seven Liga goals in 67 games for the Pamplona outfit.
Villarreal will discover their UEFA Champions League play-off opponents on 5 August, for a tie later that month.
