Polish champions Wisła Kraków have brought defender Júnior Díaz back to the club on loan for the coming season, making the Costa Rican international their fifth reinforcement of the summer.
The 27-year-old returns a year after leaving Wisła for Club Brugge KV, his maiden campaign with the Belgian side having been interrupted by the knee injury he collected in a UEFA Europa League game against NK Dinamo Zagreb in November. Díaz made 66 league appearances and scored five goals for Wisła during his first spell, after joining from Costa Rican outfit CS Herediano in 2008.
Wisła, who open their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie away against Skonto FC on Wednesday, have also agreed a two-year deal with Serbian striker Ivica Iliev, a free agent after firing 13 league efforts for FK Partizan last term.
Dutch coach Robert Maaskant has likewise lured his compatriot and Leicester City FC defender Michael Lamey on a one-year contract, while finalising year-long loan deals with versatile left-sided player Gervasio Daniel Nuñez from Quilmes Atlético Club and Israeli striker David Biton from R. Charleroi SC.
