FC Dynamo Kyiv have bolstered their squad with the signing of Nigerian international Lukman Haruna from AS Monaco FC on a five-year contract.
The 21-year-old midfielder made 44 Ligue 1 appearances and scored three goals during his three-year spell at Monaco, who were relegated from Ligue 1 in May having ended the season in 18th position. "I never thought I'd end up at Dynamo Kyiv," said Aruna, who has also won six caps with Nigeria. "I am very happy and still cannot believe I am here.
"I know Dynamo are a very good side and that they play in the Champions League. I have always dreamt of taking part in this competition ever since I was a boy. Hopefully, I'll win the Ukrainian Super Cup in my first game on 5 July against Shakhtar Donetsk. Victory in that match will give us a huge boost."
The Ukrainian Premier League runners-up will kick-off their 2011/12 UEFA Champions League campaign in the third qualifying round.
