AC Milan have turned goalkeeper Marco Amelia's loan move into a permanent transfer from Genoa CFC.
Amelia spent all of last season with the Rossoneri, making four Serie A appearances and featuring three times in the UEFA Champions League. While the 29-year-old will now stay at San Siro, Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has moved in the opposite direction. He returns to Genoa after just one year away, during which he played five league matches for Massimiliano Allegri's top-flight champions.
Milan, who will go straight into the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League group stage, have also announced they have agreed to sell Genoa the promising trio of Nnamdi Oduamadi, Rodney Strasser and Gianmarco Zigoni. No fee or contract details have been revealed.
