Manchester United FC left-back Patrice Evra has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep him at Old Trafford until the end of the 2013/14 season.

"Ever since I arrived at United it's been a dream come true playing here," said Evra. "The fans, the players, the manager, and the staff all work hard to make this the best club in the world. I've won a lot here in the last five years but I want to win more and I know that's the mentality of everyone here."

The 29-year-old has made 226 appearances and scored three goals since joining United in 2006 from AS Monaco FC – winning three Premier League titles, three English League Cups, the UEFA Champions League in 2008 and a FIFA Club World Cup.

United visit Olympique de Marseille in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg on Wednesday.
