Madrid's Khedira out for three weeks

Sami Khedira could miss Real Madrid CF's UEFA Champions League round of 16 decider against Olympique Lyonnais after suffering a left thigh injury in Tuesday's first leg.

The German international, 23, was replaced by Lassana Diarra in the 68th minute at the Stade de Gerland and tests have revealed that the defensive midfielder will be out of action for three weeks. Khedira moved to Madrid from VfB Stuttgart in the summer and has made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Merengues this season.

Madrid will host Lyon at the Santiago Bernabéu on 16 March, having been pegged back by Bafétimbi Gomis's late goal in a 1-1 draw in France.
