Midfielder Dejan Stanković is expected to miss the first leg of FC Internazionale Milano's UEFA Champions League round of 16 meeting with FC Bayern München after suffering a thigh strain during Wednesday's Coppa Italia success over SSC Napoli.
The 32-year-old Serbia captain was taken off just after the hour mark in the 0-0 quarter-final draw at the San Paolo Stadium – Inter would win 5-4 on penalties. Tests later confirmed that the right thigh strain will keep Stanković sidelined for about a month. He is therefore likely to sit out the opening leg of the Bayern tie at San Siro on 23 February.
Centre-back Iván Córdoba is also a concern for Leonardo's side after he dislocated his right shoulder in the same game, with further examinations needed to ascertain the extent of the 34-year-old's injury.
