After presiding over a 3-0 defeat by FC Barcelona, his first match in charge of Panathinaikos FC, Jesualdo Ferreira says he now has a "clearer picture" of what he has to work with at the Athens club. Opposite number Josep Guardiola, meanwhile, was pleased to have settled matters in UEFA Champions League Group D with one match still to play.

Jesualdo Ferreira, Panathinaikos coach
Now I have a clearer picture of our abilities, of the players who got to play tonight. We were better in the first 45 minutes. Of course, Barcelona had more possession − that's their trademark. They created many chances to score, but we also got close to scoring, especially though Djibril Cissé. My team showed some good qualities, their ability to close space and play together. We encountered problems on the counterattack, but we should give credit to a great team like Barcelona.

Josep Guardiola, Barcelona coach
We've had to put in a big effort in order to win here. Firstly, I'd like to say this is the third year we've advanced from the group stage as section winners with a game to spare. Facing teams like København and Rubin Kazan demands a hell of a lot. We're certainly not an unbeatable team.

In terms of tonight's game, I'm a little disappointed with some things, like when we lost possession, but having said that we controlled the game apart from when [Djibril] Cissé had his chance. It could have been a different match had Víctor Valdés not saved that; he continues to be a crucial part of our team. We're satisfied that we've qualified as group winners so let's see how we do in this tournament when February rolls around.
