Josep Guardiola said FC Barcelona had returned to their stylish best despite being made to work hard for a win against a FC København side who took great encouragement from their display.

FC Barcelona may have beaten FC København to wrestle the Group D leadership from their visitors, but for Josep Guardiola it was his side's second-half display that pleased him most. The game was in the balance until added time when Lionel Messi scored his second to make it 2-0 and Ståle Solbakken was encouraged by the way his players performed at Camp Nou.

Josep Guardiola, Barcelona coach
I'm really happy because of the way my players fought; once again we've played a great game. When you are 1-0 up there is always going to be some sort of danger but for me the most important thing is that we've got our game back. Although we were the team in control, the nervousness in the stands was generated by the fact that we didn't close out the game earlier and we may have only finished with a point had they scored. The ball simply wouldn't go in for us at times. I'm thrilled with how my players performed after the break. In the end our football won the day.

Ståle Solbakken, FC København coach
My players showed courage in there. They lost the ball sometimes, but the mental approach was OK. We played our own game and tried to learn. Some of the players can now go home and think that they have the level to play in the Spanish Liga.
