FC Barcelona must prepare for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League Group D encounter at FC Rubin Kazan without full-back Adriano after the Brazilian international tore a muscle in his right thigh.

The left-sided player – who has yet to make his UEFA Champions League bow for Barça since his summer move from Sevilla FC – was replaced at half-time during his team's 3-1 Liga triumph at Athletic Club on Saturday, though the Spanish champions have not specified how long the 25-year-old is expected to be out of action. Josep Guardiola's side began their quest for a fourth European Champion Clubs' Cup triumph with a 5-1 win at home to Panathinaikos FC on Matchday 1.
