AS Roma will be without a number of regulars for Wednesday's trip to at FC Bayern München with Rodrigo Taddei their latest injury victim.
The 30-year-old Brazilian midfielder suffered a thigh problem during Roma's last training session before travelling to Munich for their UEFA Champions League Group E opener. Taddei has been omitted from the squad along with Mirko Vučinić, Philippe Mexès, John Arne Riise and Paolo Castellini.
Striker Vučinić and defender Mexès suffered back and calf injuries respectively on international duty last week and neither will be risked against last season's UEFA Champions League finalists, while left-back Riise is out for an indefinite period after he was concussed during Norway's qualifier in Iceland.
Riise's understudy Castellini began Saturday's 5-1 Serie A defeat at Cagliari Calcio only to pick up a thigh injury 14 minutes in and he too misses the Bayern visit. There is one piece of good news for Roma coach Claudio Ranieri, however, as Brazilian striker Adriano is back in the squad after recovering from the thigh injury he suffered in late August.
