The 2010 UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, presented by UniCredit, starts on 15 September in Munich, Germany.
Bringing fans closer to the magic of the European club game's most illustrious competition, the trophy tour will visit five European countries – Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Austria – during September and October.
Star players and former winners of the UEFA Champions League, such as Cafu, Giovane Elber and Vladimír Šmicer, will join the action as UEFA Trophy Tour Ambassadors. The ambassadors will be meeting fans and media throughout the tour, sharing their memories of the UEFA Champions League.
Luís Figo, official UniCredit ambassador for the UEFA Champions League, will also take part in activities along the route.
Visiting the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour Village, set up at each main venue, is a unique experience. The evocative tunnel-style entrance leads into a village featuring displays of competition memorabilia supplemented by exclusive archive photographs and videos that highlight the legacy of the competition.
Visitors will be able to see, and have their picture taken with, one of world sport's most iconic pieces of silverware: the UEFA Champions League Trophy. A mini-pitch at most venues will be the setting for various grassroots activities and mini-tournaments.
With the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour revisiting Europe, UEFA wants to bring the lustre of the elite competition to the home towns of its dedicated supporters, and to give them the opportunity to learn more about the tournament's rich history, magic moments, legendary clubs and players at first hand.
The inaugural UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour in Europe attracted 92,000 visitors in 2009.
