After prolonged negotiations, AS Roma have reached an agreement with Serie A rivals FC Internazionale Milano to re-sign defender Nicolás Burdisso for €8m.
The 29-year-old has penned a four-year contract, having impressed during a season-long loan with the Giallorossi last term during which he scored twice in 33 league appearances. Confirmation of the move comes two weeks after Roma secured the services of Burdisso's younger brother, 22-year-old Guillermo, on loan from CA Rosario Central with a view to a permanent move next summer.
Roma, who were drawn in UEFA Champions League Group E this week alongside FC Bayern München, FC Basel 1893 and CFR 1907 Cluj, start their Serie A season on Saturday at home to promoted AC Cesena.
