FC Dynamo Kyiv won 3-1 in Belgium to complete a 6-1 aggregate victory against KAA Gent in their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie.
Three-nil winners on home soil last week, Dynamo went four and then five goals to the good thanks to efforts either side of half-time from Denys Garmash and Artem Milevskiy. Elimane Coulibaly finally got Gent on the scoresheet with five minutes to play, yet the final word went the visitors' way as substitute Oleh Gusev completed the scoring from Andriy Shevchenko's lovely assist.
The one player on the pitch to have lifted the European Champions Clubs' Cup, in the colours of AC Milan in 2003, Shevchenko showed a number of classy touches throughout – not least that assist for Gusev and a similarly precise pass in the 32nd minute which played a significant part in Garmash breaking the deadlock.
Milevskiy's goal came five minutes after the restart, the Ukraine striker beating Bojan Jorgacevic after a one-two with Roman Eremenko, while Gent's consolation was a Coulibaly header from Christophe Grondin's cross.
