AC Omonia won 2-0 at FK Renova to complete a 5-0 aggregate success and set up a UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie with FC Salzburg.
If Omonia's work was not already done following last week's first leg, it certainly was after just 24 minutes in Skopje as Leandro added to Efstathios Aloneftis's opener. The Cypriot champions will return to European action next week, with Salzburg – 5-1 aggregate winners against HB Tórshavn from the Faroe Islands – set to visit the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.
Omonia did have to survive a scare before Aloneftis capitalised on Metodija Stepanovski's defensive lapse to break the deadlock from the edge of the area a quarter of an hour in. It occurred in the fifth minute, visiting goalkeeper Antonis Georgallides pushing Boban Jančevski's powerful drive behind via the post.
Renova No1 Armend Elezi could not get close to keeping out Omonia's second goal, however, as Leandro converted Georgios Efrem's fine cross from the right wing with ease. The best opportunities from then on all went Omonia's way, with new signing Lomana LuaLua missing twice late on as the substitute aimed to register his first goal for the club.
