France forward Sidney Govou has joined Greek champions Panathinaikos FC from Olympique Lyonnais.
Govou moves to the Super League outfit as a free agent, having signed a three-year contract. He had previously spent his whole career at Lyon, where he scored 49 goals in 292 league games and won seven Ligue 1 titles.
The 30-year-old, who will link up with France team-mate Djibril Cissé in Athens, said: "I am very happy to be here. Panathinaikos are a great club. I will give my all on the pitch and help the club reach their goals. I spoke to Djibril Cissé quite a few times and he convinced me I was making the right choice."
Cissé and Govou recently returned from South Africa where their appearances in Les Bleus' disappointing FIFA World Cup campaign took their respective cap totals to 40 and 49. As national titleholders, Panathinaikos will start their UEFA Champions League challenge in the group stage.
