SC Braga have taken their tally of summer signings to eight after bringing in former goalkeeper Quim from SL Benfica – who subsequently suffered a serious injury in training – and CF Os Belenenses forward Rodrigo Lima.
Quim has been allowed to leave Benfica on a free transfer after six seasons with the Liga champions, for whom he was ever-present last term. The Portuguese international, 34, has agreed a three-year deal at Braga, rejoining the team he quit for the Lisbon outfit in 2004.
He had spent his previous ten campaigns with the northern club, who will make their UEFA Champions League debut in the coming season's third qualifying round. However, Quim ruptured his right Achilles tendon in training today and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The 26-year-old Lima has also put pen to paper on a three-year contract after arriving in Braga for an undisclosed fee. The Brazilian striker scored seven goals in 27 leagues matches for relegated Belenenses last term.
The two acquisitions follow a long list of summer signings to Braga with Léo Fortunato, Eduardo, Ladji Keita, José Collado, Uwa Echiéjilé and Leandro Salino having already joined
