The 36 European title winners involved have discovered what awaits them in the first and second qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League following today's draws at UEFA headquarters in Nyon.
Less than 40 days after FC Internazionale Milano were crowned kings of Europe Hungarian side Debreceni VSC, one of three clubs to advance from the second qualifying round to the group stage last term, kick off their campaign against FC Levadia Tallinn. Norwegian titleholders Rosenborg BK's bid begins against Linfield FC while 2008/09 group-phase contenders FC BATE Borisov meet Iceland's FH Hafnarfjördur.
PFC Litex Lovech await the winners of the meeting between SP Tre Fiori and FK Rudar Pljevlja, one of two first qualifying round fixtures. Should the Sammarinese or Montenegrin sides exceed all expectations and reach the final at Wembley next May they will need to negotiate 20 games but the initial target for most of these teams is a place in the third qualifying round draw on 16 July. There they could meet FC Basel 1893, RSC Anderlecht or FC København.
