UEFA Champions League winners FC Internazionale Milano have announced the signing of goalkeeper Luca Castellazzi on a free transfer from UC Sampdoria with a contract until June 2012.
The 34-year-old, who is expected to be Júlio César's deputy at the European and Italian champions, played 94 games for fellow UEFA Champions League contenders Sampdoria after joining the Blucerchiati from Brescia Calcio in 2005. He made 19 appearances last term before before suffering a knee injury and losing his place to Marco Storari. Inter begin the UEFA Champions League in the group stage while Sampdoria, fourth in Serie A, will be in August's play-offs.
