Ulrich Ramé will extend his FC Girondins de Bordeaux career into a 14th season after agreeing a new contract that will keep him at the French champions until June 2011.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper, whose previous deal was due to expire at the end of this term, joined Bordeaux from Angers SCO in 1997 although the arrival of Cédric Carrasso has restricted him to just four Ligue 1 appearances this season. His experience remains invaluable for Laurent Blanc's side, however, the coach saying of the former French international: "He is an important element of the team off the pitch."
Bordeaux face an all-Ligue 1 tie against Olympique Lyonnais in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, although midfielder Grégory Sertic will miss both games having fractured the big toe on his right foot. The 20-year-old sustained the injury in Sunday's 3-1 defeat of LOSC Lille Métropole, his ninth league appearance of the season.
