VfB Stuttgart will be without second-choice goalkeeper Sven Ulreich for the remainder of the season after he broke his calf bone in Germany's 2-2 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying draw against Iceland on Tuesday.
According to the club, the 21-year-old custodian – who has played in four domestic league games this season – will be out of action for six to eight weeks and is unlikely to make a comeback until next season. That leaves the Bundesliga side without a recognised deputy for experienced No1 Jens Lehmann. Christian Gross's side meet FC Barcelona in the concluding leg of their UEFA Champions League first knockout round at Camp Nou on 17 March with the scores level at 1-1.
