Ryan Giggs will miss Manchester United FC's UEFA Champions League first knockout round trip to AC Milan on Tuesday and is a doubt for the second leg after suffering a fracture in his right arm.
The 36-year-old was injured 74 minutes into Wednesday night's 1-1 Premier League draw at Aston Villa FC and following an x-ray has been ruled out for up to four weeks. That leaves him struggling to be available when Milan visit Old Trafford for the return fixture on 10 March.
Giggs was not the only Premier League player to have been hurt on Wednesday. Ashley Cole went off with an ankle injury in Chelsea FC's 2-1 defeat at Everton. Andrei Arshavin (hamstring) and Samir Nasri (head) also failed to last the distance as Arsenal FC beat a Liverpool FC side who themselves ended the game without Jamie Carragher (groin).
