Article body
ACF Fiorentina have announced an agreement with fellow UEFA Champions League contenders FC Porto for the signing of central midfielder Mario Bolatti subject to the player successfully completing a medical examination.
Crucial goal
No details over a transfer fee or contract have been released for Bolatti, who played only 15 league games with Porto since joining in 2007 from Argentinian club CA Belgrano. The 24-year-old spent the 2009 season on loan to CA Huracán back in his homeland where he was voted the Clausura's best player. Bolatti's landmark moment came on 14 October when, as a substitute, he scored the 84th-minute goal in Uruguay which ensured Argentina's qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, his only goal in three appearances for the national team. Fiorentina will face FC Bayern München in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round while Porto take on Arsenal FC.
