Réveillère revels in high-stakes tie

Olympique Lyonnais may already be through to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, but right-back Anthony Réveillère insists they still have plenty to play for at home to Debreceni VSC as they look to replace ACF Fiorentina at the Group E summit.

High stakes
Lyon were drawn against eventual winners Manchester United FC and FC Barcelona after finishing second in their section in each of their past two UEFA Champions League campaigns and they are determined to minimise the chance of that happening again by topping the section. Lyon's loss to Fiorentina on Matchday 5 has left the French side two points behind the Viola ahead of their trip to Liverpool FC, but Réveillère is hopeful that, with a little help from the English club, his team can still win the group. "We want to finish first because it will allow us to play the second game at home in the first knockout round," the 30-year-old said. "We know the game between Liverpool and Fiorentina is important, but we have to think about us, win the game and see what happens. There is a lot at stake and we like that."

Poor run
Lyon were comfortable 4-0 winners on Matchday 2 away to the Hungarian side, who are yet to pick up a point in the section. Réveillère, though, is full of respect for the UEFA Champions League debutants. "We don't think it will be an easy game. We take them seriously. This team deserve respect." Lyon are also desperate to get Sunday's 4-3 loss to LOSC Lille Métropole out of their system and end a run of six games without victory in all competitions. "That's behind us now," Réveillère said when asked about the defeat in Lille, a game Lyon led 3-1 at half-time. "Of course we were disappointed, but we have to forget about it and only think of Debrecen. We have our backs to the wall and have to win for the fans."
