PFC CSKA Moskva have parted company with coach Juande Ramos and appointed Leonid Slutski in his stead.

Coaching change
Former Sevilla FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC and Real Madrid CF coach Ramos was only appointed on 10 September following the departure of Zico but in that time CSKA's Premier-Liga hopes faded as they picked up ten points from six games, including Sunday's 3-1 loss against FC Moskva, while in the UEFA Champions League they have won once and been beaten twice in Group B. Slutski, 38, leaves PFC Krylya Sovetov Samara, currently four places below CSKA in ninth, having previously coached FC Olimpia Volgograd, FC Uralan Elista and FC Moskva, guiding the latter to a club-record fourth place in 2007.

'Mutual consent'
A CSKA statement read: "By mutual consent it was agreed to cancel the contract with Juande Ramos. We are grateful to Ramos for the work he has done with the team. From his side the Spaniard thanked the club and the players for their cooperation and wished them the best of luck. On Monday at training the team was introduced to the new coach Leonid Slutski." Having lost 1-0 at home to Manchester United FC last week, CSKA visit Old Trafford on 3 November hoping to move above second-placed VfL Wolfsburg, currently one point ahead.
