Debreceni VSC coach András Herczeg knows the Hungarian champions have to iron out the mistakes they showed in their 4-0 defeat by Olympique Lyonnais on Matchday 2 if they are to claim their first points in Group E against ACF Fiorentina on Tuesday. Cesare Prandelli, meanwhile, has called for more of the same from the Viola after impressively beating Liverpool FC last time out.

András Herczeg, Debrecen coach

I hope we don't make the same mistakes we did at the start of our last Champions League match against Lyon – if we don't then perhaps we can score a goal and get a good result. We know this will be difficult because Fiorentina are a European-class side who have players who can come up with the unexpected at any time. We've analysed four or five games, but you can never predict the unexpected. We hope to play an entertaining match here at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium and change the situation that has seen us fail to score a point so far.

Cesare Prandelli, Fiorentina coach
Debrecen play nice football and are a real footballing team. Of course we want our good results to continue and we need to continue our fine form, but we know it will be very difficult. In our weekend game against Juventus we played with a very positive attitude in terms of retaining possession and we have become adept at building attacks quickly, but our form will not decide this match. Our hard work over the last few years has borne fruit, but our players can still improve.

Weekend results
16/10/09 Vasas SC 2-4 Debrecen
(Dobrić 10 70; Coulibaly 26 89, Kiss 53, Leandro 86)

• Debrecen claimed their fourth away win in eight games in all competitions this season despite the 14th-minute dismissal of Ádám Komlósi. Vasas were also reduced to ten men with six minutes remaining.

• Debrecen have won all four of their home league games this season and have recorded victories in seven of eight home matches in all competitions, losing only against Lyon on Matchday 2.

17/10/09 Juventus 1-1 Fiorentina
(Amauri 19; Vargas 5)

• It was Prandelli's 200th game in charge of the Viola. The 52-year-old presided over a club record 100th victory in all competitions as Fiorentina coach on 26 September when they won 1-0 at AS Livorno Calcio. He surpassed a mark set by Fulvio Bernardini, the man who led the Viola to their first Scudetto in 1956.

• Amauri's effort was the first goal Sébastien Frey and the Viola have conceded in 428 minutes in all competitions. They were last breached in the 41st minute of the 3-1 defeat at AS Roma on 20 September.

Background
• Debrecen and Fiorentina will meet for the first time on Matchday 3. The teams will be in contrasting moods after two games, Fiorentina bouncing back from Matchday 1's reverse at Lyon with an impressive 2-0 dismantling of Liverpool. Debrecen, meanwhile, have won plaudits but no points after losing to Liverpool (0-1) and Lyon (0-4).

• This is Debrecen's maiden test against Italian opposition. Fiorentina have faced Hungarian teams twice before, both in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in the 1960s.

• The Viola defeated Újpest FC 1-0 in Budapest in April 1962, sealing a 3-0 aggregate success in that semi-final encounter. Fiorentina lost on their second trip to the city to face Györi ETO FC in the first round of the same competition in 1966/67. Their 1-0 first-leg advantage crumbled as they succumbed 4-2 in the Hungarian capital.

Did you know?
• Stevan Jovetić has scored four in five games for Fiorentina and seven competitive goals this term for club and country, three more than he mustered last season.
