AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has added another year to his contract, committing the midfield player to the Rossoneri until June 2011.

Honours
The 32-year-old, capped 35 times by Italy, has just started his 14th campaign at the San Siro, a run only interrupted by a season on loan at Vicenza Calcio in 1997/98. Ambrosini has won three Italian titles and two UEFA Champions League crowns during that time, and was rewarded with the captaincy following the retirement of Paolo Maldini in May. Milan get Group D under way away to Olympique de Marseille next Tuesday before tackling FC Zürich and Real Madrid CF in the section.
