PFC CSKA Moskva forward Vágner Love has joined his former club SE Palmeiras on a one-year loan.
Contract extension
The Brazilian striker had asked to return to his homeland and CSKA agreed to his request. "PFC CSKA Moskva responded to Vágner's wishes and accepted his desire to leave for his homeland due to family problems," a statement from the club read. "Vágner and CSKA refused several profitable offers from European clubs, because Vágner would only be able to solve his problems in Brazil. At the same time, Vágner has opted to extend his contract with CSKA Moskva for another two and a half years."
Trophy haul
Love played for Palmeiras for two years before joining CSKA during the summer of 2004, winning two Russian titles, four Russian Cups, three Russian Super Cups and the UEFA Cup in 2005. He has scored 61 times in 119 league games for the capital club and was top scorer in final edition of the UEFA Cup last season with eleven strikes. CSKA will start their UEFA Champions League Group B campaign on 15 September away to VfL Wolfsburg.
