Christian Träsch is likely to miss VfB Stuttgart's UEFA Champions League play-off against FC Timişoara on 18 and 26 August because of a fracture to his left wrist sustained in the 2-0 defeat by VfL Wolfsburg on Friday.
Awkward fall
The 21-year-old right-back, who made his debut for Germany against the United Arab Emirates in June, suffered the injury when he fell awkwardly after attempting to make a block in the closing stages of the Bundesliga's opening fixture. Träsch returned to Stuttgart with the rest of his team-mates after the match where the full extent of the injury will be determined by a more thorough examination on Saturday.
