Liverpool extend El Zhar deal

Moroccan winger Nabil El Zhar has agreed a contract extension with Liverpool FC, while the Anfield club have also signed 18-year-old French left-back Chris Mavinga from Paris Saint-Germain FC.

Futures assured
El Zhar made 15 Premier League appearances last season and his new agreement will keep him at Liverpool until 2012, the 22-year-old following Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Dirk Kuyt, Yossi Benayoun and Daniel Agger in committing his long-term future to the club. Mavinga, who can also play at centre-back, had not made a first-team appearance for PSG but has represented France at Under-18 level.
