International success
The former Betis captain – who made 255 Liga appearances for Los Verdiblancos – moves to the Vicente Calderón as a free agent having reached the end of his contract with the Seville-based side. Capped 26 times, the 32-year-old Juanito was part of the Spain squad that emerged triumphant at last summer's UEFA EURO 2008™. Atlético will play a two-legged UEFA Champions League play-off on 18/19 and 25/26 August.
