Cup winner
The 29-year-old has scored eight times in 52 league games for the London club since switching from Olympique Lyonnais in summer 2007 and won the FA Cup under Guus Hiddink last season. Capped 45 times by France, the former LB Châteauroux and EA Guingamp player won the Ligue 1 title in all four seasons of his spell at Lyon. Chelsea, now under Carlo Ancelotti, will enter the UEFA Champions League in the group stage next season, Malouda having reached the final of the competition in 2008 when his side were defeated on penalties by Manchester United FC.
Sturridge on the way
Chelsea are also set to sign 19-year-old striker Daniel Sturridge from Premier League rivals Manchester City FC, with the fee to be settled by a transfer tribunal after the two clubs failed to agree terms. Sturridge will be out of contract at the end of June, but since he is under 24, City will be due compensation.
