The injuries continue to mount for Arsenal FC manager Arsène Wenger after he confirmed he will be without Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor for tonight's Premier League trip to Liverpool FC.
Sagna available
Van Persie picked up a "little groin problem" during Saturday's FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea FC while his Togolese strike partner is rested because "he has a little hamstring problem and we don't want to take a gamble on him". With Arsenal secure in fourth in the Premier League and their UEFA Champions League last-four meeting with Manchester United FC just eight days away, Wenger is reluctant to risk further depleting a squad hit by injuries. Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia (ankle) and the defenders Gaël Clichy (back), William Gallas and Johan Djourou (both knee) are all sidelined, though full-back Bacary Sagna has recovered from a virus and is expected to feature at Anfield, along with the fit-again Croatia forward Eduardo da Silva.
