Arsenal FC defender William Gallas and goalkeeper Manuel Almunia both look set to miss the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Villarreal CF next Wednesday after being injured in the 1-1 draw between the teams in Spain.
Wenger concern
Almunia was replaced 28 minutes into Tuesday's first leg by Łukasz Fabiański after colliding with Giuseppe Rossi and suffering a recurrence of an ankle problem first suffered last month. Ten minutes before half-time Gallas damaged his knee, also in a collision with Rossi, and limped off eight minutes later. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: "With Gallas, it looks quite serious and could be a medial knee ligament injury. We will have to assess it. I am not a doctor, but the first signs do not look too good. Manuel is a recurrence of an ankle injury, which will probably be a couple of weeks."
