Eduardo da Silva has been named in the Croatia squad for the first time since breaking his leg while playing for Arsenal FC eleven months ago, with coach Slaven Bilić saying the Brazilian-born striker "will definitely play against Romania".

Arsenal agreement
Having not played for Croatia since a game against the Netherlands in Split on 6 February 2008, the 25-year-old will be involved in the friendly against Romania in Bucharest on 11 February, with Bilić confirming: "Eduardo is ready and he will definitely play against Romania. I talked with Arsène Wenger and he agreed. Eduardo will play 30 minutes or one half."

Nasty injury
Eduardo suffered a broken left fibula and an open dislocation of his left ankle in a Premier League game against Birmingham City FC on 23 February last year, but has begun to play games with Arsenal's reserves in recent weeks. He will be joined in the Croatia squad by Genoa CFC midfielder Ivan Jurić, a replacemant for retired captain Niko Kovač, and Trabzonspor defender Hrvoje Čale with FC Nantes striker Ivan Klasnić omitted.
