Ten years
The new agreement means that the 28-year-old, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2010, will prolong an association with the Spanish Liga side which began with his debut in the 1998/99 season and has taken the UEFA EURO 2008™ winner to within three league appearances of 300 for the Blaugrana. Xavi has played in all but one of Barça's 15 league matches this term, scoring three goals, as well as featuring five times in the UEFA Champions League, where Josep Guardiola's team will play Olympique Lyonnais in the first knockout round following the draw on Friday.
